Discussed below are some of the elements of our data recovery course, the course aims to teach what those basic computer data recovery books fail to tell you. Data recovery training is available to people of all nationalities and countries, so it doesn’t matter if you live in London, NYC, Miami, Australia or elsewhere. Everyone is eligible for this course if you already have some basic knowledge of data recovery.

Physical Recovery

This is the main content of our online data recovery course, beginning with explaining the use and operation of the cleanroom we look at the other elements of data recovery. The online physical recovery course trains the novice how to solder SMD components by hand. You will learn how to diagnose the logic card faults, how to desolder the faulty components and solder a replacement component to get the card working. The modules are things not normally discussed in the data recovery books or information pages of the web.

Why should we need to solder when we can swap the logic card? It is not an easy process anymore to simply swap the logic card with a donor. Technology has changed and the use of NV RAM can make life a little tricky when swapping the cards. It is often quicker to test and repair the faulty component on the PCB. This data recovery education course teaches students to repair logic cards using simple tools that are likely already part of your existing toolkit.

The online physical data recovery course shows you how to perform platter swaps, read / write head transplants on drives with up to three platters. Our course covers issues when the heads need to be re-aligned, we will show you how to do this by hand using your naked eye and some common tools. At the end of the online data recovery course you should be confident to repair any physical faults on hard drives.

USB flash drives do not contain moving parts, however they do fail often. Most of the failures seem to occur when using Windows XP, however we have no supporting evidence that XP is to blame. We will show you how to successfully recover data from USB flash drives.

Logical Recovery

HDRC also offers a separate logical recovery course; however the physical data recovery has a logical element of the physical course recap on some of the logical recovery if it has been a while since you did any logical training. We explain MFT - Master File Table, FAT- File Allocation table, MBR- Master Boot Record. We expect our student to understand this already so we do not cover all areas in depth. If you are looking for in depth logical recovery training you need to take our logical recovery course.

After discussing file systems and number systems we will explain some of the DOS commands, it may not seem important to cover such an old operating system. The DOS commands are still very powerful and can be used with the command line to get what you want without the GUI of your operating system. Sometimes there are files that are much easier and quicker to recover using command line data recovery tools.

Another section explains how to prepare your disks for duplication, we teach this section using videos and Linux is a great operating system for disk duplication and preparation. For those with no Linux experience after watching our training video and text you will manage disks with Linux with no problem.
